The information below will help those patients considering long distance treatment options. For long distance patients special arrangements can be made which will result in the most productive use of your time during your visit(s). We ask that you call the office to discuss your particular situation, as each person's condition and situation is different. We will do all we can to make this process comfortable for you.
Typically during the first visit the physician will examine your legs, complete a detailed ultrasound reflux study, and provide a detailed treatment plan. By doing all this on the first visit, we can verify and/or pre-certify your insurance coverage and the procedure can be performed during your second visit.
If obtaining insurance coverage is not a concern, we can do the consultation, duplex ultrasound and treatment on your first visit. This will be discussed and pre-arranged for your convenience.
If however you are flying into Raleigh Durham, or have a trip in excess of 300 miles, same day evaluation and treatment MAY be an option. In order for this to occur, you will need to provide detailed information, and have a phone conversation with Dr. Mauriello.
